What is a blog? How does one communicate within a blog? Where did blogs originate from? Within each question I ask, I ponder the response I will be given. As I jumped from blog page to blog page I started to compile my own answers to the questions I first stated in this "blog" of my own. My answers I compiled are within this blog...
I am a Junior at Longwood University. My dream in life is to run around all day teaching 6-year-old children how to: read, write, comprehend mathematics, and be able to process mental situations. As I logged into this cyberspace, I was thrown through a loop. It seemed as if I was in a whole other world where "my world" issues were smeared all over pages, pros and cons listed everywhere, and personal opinions stated. The more I read, the more I was becoming engaged in people's lives. Not only did I learn a lot, I was able to see differing views towards important subjects and read people's personal thoughts and ways they are truly able to express themselves.
I believe that blogging can be a helpful technology use within the classroom. Like I said, I want to become a teacher. Not just the normal, "Ms. Kimmey's class" but I want to be the: energetic, before the curve, interactive, and joyful teacher always waiting to integrate the newest technology into my lessons.
Blogging within the classroom will be a great way to let the students express themselves and have their creativity shine through their work. Decorating their pages, freedom to express their own personal thoughts, and having the students use technology in the classroom will help support the students in their daily work and classroom abilities. Thus, letting the students use creative writing more frequently. As the students are exposed to creative writing, they will be more open to future writing assignments.
Although I am new to this technology craze... I can only hope that by introducing and letting my students use blogging to express themselves, they will open up multiple doors of opportunities for themselves.

by teaching you will understand."
